Abstract

The objective of this paper is to quantify in terms of supply and demand the effects promoted by the geographical changes derived from the use of public policies to improve the regional development, as well as the strategic planning applied by the firms in order to augment their competitiveness in Mexico´s territory. I use the comparative method used to describe inegi’s regional statistics related to the objective of the research. There are three main results: there is a great concern about the failure of government in matching industrial opportunities between the Mexican states; the great firms induced the regional industrial growth, which is dangerous because they operate as a monopoly and reduce markets for the micro and small firms: main source of employment, school and reality of entrepreneur´s dream; it is urgent to review the policy of industrial development in the regions, otherwise our country will be only a center of consumption for the great foreign companies
