La economía de Estados Unidos a la luz de la crisis subprime: el presente como resultado del pasado reciente

El presente trabajo analiza la situación financiera y económica actual que registra la economía norteamericana. Sobre la base de los hechos que se registran, se formulan algunos argumentos en torno a la interpretación de la fase que se transita y, a partir de estos argumentos, se apuntan algunas consideraciones sobre las acciones de estabilización que se han aplicado –en relación con la volatilidad financiera– y su posible curso en el corto plazo. El presente trabajo aporta elementos que muestran que el comportamiento que sigue el proceso actual difiere del que sostiene la teoría convencional, como son las tasas de interés negativas, lo que significa que existen bienes con precio negativo, situación impensable incluso en el campo de la teoría del equilibrio general./ The present work analyzes the current financial and economic situation that registers the North American economy. On the base of the facts that are registered they formulate some arguments around the interpretation of the phase that is trafficked, and starting from these arguments some considerations are aimed on the stabilization stocks that have been applied –in connection with the financial volatility– and their possible course in the short term. The present work contributes with elements that show that the behavior that follows the current process differs of the one that sustains the conventional theory, as they are the negative interest rates, what means that goods exist with negative price, unthinkable situation even in the field of the theory of the general equilibrium.
