Abstract

This note gives a technique to obtain for a queue with Poisson arrivals and no balking, the joint distribution of the number of departures during (0, t ⌋ and the queue length at t from the marginal distribution of the queue length at t . As an illustration the joint distribution for the queuing system M / G /1 is given.
