The Application of O.R. to Small Food Firms in Developing Countries: Report of a Workshop

Abstract

The International Development Research Centre held a workshop in Singapore, 13--17 October 1980, entitled “Approaches to Process Improvement for Small Food Industry in Developing Countries.” The aim was to discuss the use of quantitative techniques for improving the production process of the small food processing sector in developing countries. This paper describes the workshop, reports on its conclusions, and comments on the use of OR in small firms and in developing countries.
