Batık maliyet endüstrilerinde fiyat dışı rekabet ve piyasa yapısı: Türk imalat sanayi

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Sutton’ın batık maliyet endüstrilerine yönelik kestirimlerinin geçerliliğini panel veri seti kullanarak Türk imalat sanayi için sınamaktır. Bu bakımdan yoğunlaşmanın alt sınırları; gözlemlenebilen endüstriye has özellikler, giriş engelleri ve ihracat yoğunluğunun sınırdan sapmaların ortalaması ve varyansı üzerine etkileri stokastik sınırlar yöntemiyle tahmin edilmiştir. Teoriye uygun olarak, Tip 2 (içsel batık maliyet) endüstrilerin Tip 1(dışsal batık maliyet) endüstrilere göre daha yüksek bir yoğunlaşmanın alt sınır değerine sahip oldukları bulgusuna ulaşılmıştır. Bunun yanı sıra, sıkı fiyat rekabeti teorinin aksine hem Tip 1 hem de Tip 2’de alt sınır eğrisini aşağı doğru çekmektedir. Bu sonuç, fiyat rekabeti arttıkça Tip 1, Tip 2A(reklam-yoğun içsel batık maliyetli) ve Tip 2R (Ar-Ge yoğun içsel batık maliyetli) endüstrilerde yaratılan giriş engellerinin, fiyat dışı rekabetin etkisiyle önemlerinin ortadan kalktığını göstermektedir. Analizin diğer bir sonucuna göre, Gümrük Birliği süreci her iki tip endüstride yoğunlaşmanın alt sınırını azaltmaktadır.
