Mutluluk ve bireylerin finansal durumu üzerine bir pilot çalışma

Abstract

Makalemizin amacı, mutluluk kavramını bireylerin finansal durumu ile ilişkilendirmek ve bu ilişkideki farklı boyutların önemini keşfetmektir. Bu amaçla yürüttüğümüz pilot çalışmada, ağırlıklı olarak Antalya bölgesi olmak üzere 3 farklı ilde yerleşik, 1.050 kişi ile yüz yüze anketler yapılmıştır. Anket cevapları faktör analizi yaklaşımı ile incelenmiş ve elde edilen katsayılar regresyon analizine tabi tutulmuştur. Faktör analizinde bulunan, sosyal statü, gelir, sosyal güvenlik, kendi işini yapmak, medeni durum ve yaşanılan yer boyutlarından sadece sosyal güvenlik ve yaşanılan yer regresyon analizinde istatistiki olarak anlamlı çıkmıştır. Dolayısıyla, sosyal güvenliğin emekli sandığı tarafından karşılanması ile yaşanılan yerin bireylerin mutluluğunda belirleyici rol oynadığı bulunmakla beraber, aynı ülke içinde bile farklı coğrafyalarda yaşayan bireylerin mutluluğunu etkileyen faktörlerin çok farklı olabildiği açıkça görülmektedir. Çalışmamızdaki çok değişkenli regresyon modeli de, her il için ayrı ayrı uygulandığında, bu farklılığı doğrulamaktadır. Dolasıyla bulunan sonuçlar Türkiye’nin koşulları göz önüne alındığında oldukça geçerlidir ve bireylerin “maddi olarak sahip oldukları ile mutlu olmayı tercih ettikleri” doğrultusundadır.
