Finansal serbestleşme ve yoksulluk ilişkisi üzerine

Abstract

Finansal serbestleşmenin, gelişmekte olan ülkelerdeki ekonomik şartları iyileştirme konusundaki rolü ve etkili olup olmadığı halen tartışmalıdır. Serbestleşme politikalarının etkileri üzerine epeyce çalışma yapılmış olsa da, bu politikaların nüfusun yoksul kesimleri üzerindeki etkileri ancak son zamanlarda araştırmaların esas konusu olmuştur. Bu makale, finansal serbestleşme teorisinin temel varsayımlarını incelemekte ve bunların geçerliliğini sorgulamaktadır. Finansal serbestleşmenin yoksulluk üzerine hangi kanallar aracılığıyla etki edebileceğini belirlemekte ve bu şekilde literatürdeki boşluğu doldurmayı hedeflemektedir. Finansal serbestleşmenin yoksulluğu büyüme, oynaklık, kriz olasılığı, işgücünün pazarlık gücü, ve kredi ve finansal hizmetlere erişim ile olan ilişkisi aracılığıyla etkilediği tespit edilmiştir. Çalışmanın ampirik kısmında, sermaye hareketleri serbestleşmesinin yoksulluğa etkisi araştırılmış ve serbestleşmenin yoksulluğu azalttığına dair bir bulguya rastlanmamıştır.
