2001 Finansal Krizinin Türkiye Ticari Bankacılık Sektörünün Toplam Faktör Verimliliğine Etkileri

    Tasarrufların verimli yatırım alanlarına aktarılmasına aracılık ederek ekonomide hayati bir rol oynayan bankacılık sektörü yaşanan finansal krizlerden en fazla etkilenen sektörlerden biridir. Finansal krizler, bankaların yaptığı aracılık faaliyetinin toplam miktarının küçülmesine neden olmakta ve böylece bankaların verimlilik ve etkinliğini azalmaktadır. Bu çalışmada 2001 Finansal Krizi’nin Türkiye bankacılık sektörünün verimliliğine ve etkinliğine etkileri analiz edilmektedir. Analiz metodu olarak, parametrik olmayan bir lineer programlama modeli olan Malmquist Toplam Faktör Verimliliği Endeksi Modeli kullanılmıştır. Analiz, 2001 Finansal Krizi’nin Türkiye bankacılık sektörünün verimliliğini ve etkinliğini derin bir şekilde etkilediğini göstermiştir.
