Abstract

Bu çalışma Türkiye’deki son gelir dağılımı sonuçlarını incelemektedir. Esas olarak Türkiye’de 1987 yılından bu yana gelir dağılımının ve gelirlerin nasıl değiştiği araştırılmıştır. Dünya ülkelerini bu dönemde kıyasladığımızda, genel olarak, gelir dağılımında geliri en yüksek yüzde 20’lik kesimin lehine ve diğer kesimlerin aleyhine bir bozulma yaşandığını görmekteyiz. Türkiye bu dönemde gelir dağılımında bir bozulma yaşamamış fakat reel gelirlerin zaman içerisinde değişimi incelendiğinde, Türkiye’de özellikle kentlerde yüksek reel gelir kaybı gerçekleşmiştir. Gelir dağılımı ve büyüme arasındaki ilişki ampirik olarak araştırılmış ve Türkiye’nin büyüme politikası için eğitime ayrılacak kaynakların en doğru kullanım olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. Doğurganlık oranları da eğitime katılma oranlarının yükselmesiyle düşeceğinden, eğitim başlıca hedef olmalıdır.
