Finansal Krizler Ve Kırılganlık: Türkiye İçin Bir Erken Uyarı Sistemi Denemesi

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, Türkiye’deki krizleri öngörmek amacıyla bir erken uyarı sistemi geliştirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Sinyal yakalama metodunun uygulandığı çalışmada, değişkenlerin eşik değerleri serilerin dağılımlarına bakılarak belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca çoğu değişken Türkiye’nin hızlı değişen yapısı dikkate alınarak uzun vadeli trendden sapma olarak sınanmıştır. Daha önce yapılmış Türkiye’yi de içeren çalışmaların sonuçlarından daha tutarlı sonuçların elde edildiği çalışmada daha çok ekonominin temelleri ile ilgili değişkenlerin ön plana çıktığı tespit edilmiştir. Buna göre yurtiçi krediler, M2 büyüklüğü, döviz rezervleri ve reel döviz kuru başta olmak üzere dış ticaret değişkenleri Türkiye için kriz göstergeleri olarak büyük önem arz etmekte, uluslararası sermaye hareketleri ve uluslararası faiz farklılıkları da kırılganlığı artıran etkenler olmaktadır. Çalışmanın sonucu Türkiye’nin büyüme patikasının kriz yaratıcı potansiyele sahip bir patika olduğu görüşünü destekler niteliktedir.
