Turizm Gelirleri Ve Ekonomik Büyüme Arasındaki Eşbütünleşme Ve Nedensellik İlişkisi

Abstract

Bu çalışma, 1963-2002 dönemi için Türkiye’deki ekonomik büyüme ve turizm gelirleri arasındaki uzun dönemli ilişkiyi incelemektedir. Eşbütünleşme ilişkisinin tahmin edilmesinde Johansen (1988) eşbütünleşme testi ve Pesaran, Shin ve Smith’in (2001) sınır (bounds) eşbütünleşme testi kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen ampirik bulgulara göre, ekonomik büyüme ve turizm gelirleri arasında sadece bir tane uzun dönem veya denge ilişkisi mevcuttur. Granger nedensellik testi sonuçlarına göre ise, turizm gelirleri ekonomik büyümeyi tek yönlü olarak etkilemektedir. Bu çalışmanın sonuçları, seçilen dönemde Türkiye için turizm odaklı büyüme hipotezinin varlığını doğrulamaktadır. Elde edilen sonuçlar, turizm kampanyasını destekleyecek bir kamu müdahalesinin veya turizmde dengeli ve sürdürülebilir bir büyümenin sağlanması amacına yönelik bir politikanın ekonomik büyümeyi olumlu etkileyeceğini göstermektedir.
