Türk Bankacılık Sektöründe Füzyon

Abstract

Türk bankacılık sektöründe banka birleşme ve satın almaları bir strateji olarak izlenmemiş ve çok az örnekler dışında da füzyon gerçekleşmeleri mümkün olmamıştır. 1980 öncesi dönem hariç tutulduğunda son yirmi yıldır bankacılıkta birleşme ve satın almalar ya da devirler iki yöntemle gerçekleşmiştir. Bunlar, kamu bankalarına devir ile Tasarruf Mevduatı Sigorta Fonu’na (TMSF) devir şeklindedir. Bu çalışmada füzyon kavramının bankacılık açısından kapsamı açıklanarak, Türk bankacılığında füzyon gerçekleşmeleri Osmanlı’dan günümüze verilmekte ve iki bankanın ayrı kamu bankalarına devredilmesi sonrası devralan bankaların etkinlikleri -verimlilikleri- analiz edilmektedir. Analize konu olan bankalar, TÖBANK devri sonrası T. Halk Bankası ile Denizcilik Bankası devri sonrası T. Emlak Bankası’dır. 1992 yılında gerçekleşen bu devirlerin etkileri 1993 ve 1994 yılları için devralan bankaların bilançolarından hareketle etkinlik rasyoları kulanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Ortaya çıkan sonuçlar bankaların bilançolarında olumlu bir etki yaratmamıştır.
