Abstract

The article summarizes causes and explanations of the actual crisis in the Ukrainian space. In the development of this demarche are reviewed, in their historical context, elements of the evolution of the actual geopolitical Ukrainian space having in attention two main directions of interest. The first path is that of reconfigurations and continued partition observable, at historical level, of the actual Ukrainian territory between, at least, two main powers dominating the region. The second is that of the national policies in use in the area, of alterations in terms of ethnic composition suffered by the region and of contradictory and competitive policies in domain implemented in his constitutive parts. Applying those explanations to the actual coordinates of the current Ukrainian crisis offers a viable explanation to events and evolutions circumscribed to her and explains, in a rational manner objectives and actions of main actors involved in crisis and also choices and the behavior of the Ukrainian population participating to the actual crisis.
