Abstract

The EU`s commitment to rapidly launch strategic initiatives, significantly accelerating lending and investments capable of boosting jobs and growth across Member States reflects the necessity to overcome the current critical moment for the European economy. The occurrence of the economic and financial global crisis entailed the EU investment gap. The drop in investments is affecting recovery in the short- term while lack of it in the long- term draws upon economic competitiveness. To reverse the disinvestment trend and to set Europe firmly on the path of economic recovery that is the first priority of Juncker`s Commission it is necessary to coordinate collective efforts at European level. In the light of the findings above, the present research, aims to analyse the impact of the Investment Plan for Europe using relevant case studies regarding some investment projects financed with its support.
