Abstract
El artículo trata la productividad y las brechas en el sector manufacturero de las Mipymes (micro, pequeñas y medianas empresas) en Ecuador, específicamente en Cuenca, Guayaquil y Quito durante 2015-2018, su alcance incluye el análisis de los factores determinantes de la productividad en estas empresas mediante los modelos econométricos de Cobb-Douglas y Log-Log; y metodologías como LA-KLEMS, abordando variables como capital, trabajo, energía y materiales. El objetivo principal es identificar los factores que impulsan la productividad y analizar las diferencias entre Mipymes y grandes empresas, con el fin de comprender las disparidades en el crecimiento y la competitividad del sector. Entre los resultados destacan las Mipymes en Guayaquil y Quito que presentan las mayores brechas en productividad laboral y de capital debido a la limitada disponibilidad de recursos; mientras que, en Cuenca, el desempeño es notable, muestran mayor eficiencia en el uso de recursos./ The article deals the productivity and gaps in the manufacturing sector of MSMEs (micro, small and medium-sized enterprises) in Ecuador, specifically in Cuenca, Guayaquil and Quito during 2015-2018. Its scope includes the analysis of the factors determining productivity in these companies through econometric models such as Cobb-Douglas and Log-Log, and methodologies such as LA-KLEMS, addressing variables such as capital, labour, energy, and materials. The main objective is to identify the factors that drive productivity and analyse the differences between MSMEs and large companies, to understand the disparities in the growth and competitiveness of the sectoral. Among the results, it stands out that MSMEs in Guayaquil and Quito present the largest gaps in labour and capital productivity due to limited resource availability, while in Cuenca, performance is remarkable, showing greater efficiency in resource utilization.
