Structural equation modelling of the European excellence model 2020: an analytical study in North Oil Company, Iraq

Abstract

The study started with a fundamental goal of using structural equation modelling to explore the relationships between the criteria of the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) Excellence Model. A descriptive analytical approach was employed for this purpose. The study was conducted at North Oil Company in Iraq, with a total population of 7405, from which a non-random sample of 332 individuals was drawn. Data collection was done through a survey. The data was analysed using the structural equation modelling and statistical programs (SMART PLS4). The results showed that the orientation criterion in the European Excellence Model affects the results criterion positively by approximately 48%, whereas when execution is consistent with the direction, the results increase increasingly, as the indirect effect reached 40%. The study is important in developing countries in demonstrating the importance of the European excellence model, specifically in production companies.
