Abstract

Researchers and professionals are increasingly interested in leveraging information technology (IT) investments to achieve high performance. This is driven by the commodification of IT, influenced by imitation, substitution, and the digitalisation of the economic and social landscape. This study focuses on the use of IT for performance management, which has gained significance due to the collapse of the performance control paradigm and the rise of performance management in today's volatile and uncertain markets. Our objective is to explore the relationship between IT and performance management in Moroccan companies. It is a qualitative study through a conceptual analysis to insights into the context of our research problem. The mean result of this study reveals a low contribution of IT to the digitalisation of the process of the performance management. This weakness is linked to organisational and managerial variables.
