Abstract

This paper proposes a discrete event simulation model of a production system for one-Tambon-one-product (OTOP) business. The supply networks consist of six stages: suppliers, manufacturers, warehouses, wholesalers, retailers and customers. A hybrid push-pull production control system is proposed for the OTOP supply chain for productivity improvement. The performance measures considered are the average inventory level and the number of lost customers. The experimental results of the case study demonstrated that the hybrid push-pull operation strategy can reduce the average inventory level and the number of lost customers.
