Abstract

Manufacturing sectors in India face significant pressure to minimise adverse environmental effects. Hence, this study considers green human resource management's (GHRM) impact on employees' proactive behaviour (EPAB) by encouraging green lifestyle (GL) adoption. To determine the above relationship using structural equation modelling (SEM), we gathered the data across a sample of manufacturing sectors operating in India. The results revealed a positive correlation between EPAB and GHRM through GL. IGV acted as a moderator, influencing the relationship between GHRM and GL. Additionally, GL effectively mediated the connection between GHRM practices and EPAB. This is the first and only GL study to illustrate the impact of GHRM policies on the EPAB and how IGV alters the link between GHRM and the EPAB.
