HR practices and organisational citizenship behaviour: streamlining the process

Abstract

The relationship between the employees and organisation has become vital, owing to the intense business competition in the contemporary times. Accordingly, it makes complete sense to streamline the process of implementing various HR practices to achieve the organisational goals. However, managing employees in the healthcare sector can become a tedious task in the real-time environment due to different schedules, responsibilities, performance tracking, and work requirements. The present research tries to identify and prioritise the potent dimensions of HR practices and organisational citizenship behaviour (OCB) in the Indian healthcare context. Based on the empirical results, the most important dimensions that influence HR operative practices are: organisational career opportunities and sense of security. Additionally, the findings highlight that critical aspects of OCB include: altruism and courtesy. These findings are novel as they provide relevant insights about the prevailing state of HR practices and its implementation in the healthcare industry.
