Abstract

Workers in Papua New Guinea's (PNG) industries, like those in developed and developing countries, suffer from musculoskeletal disorders (MSD). However, in emerging economies like PNG, the issue of work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) in industries/factories has gotten little attention. Following a critical inspection at a food service unit in PNG, relevant data was gathered. Knees have a higher MSD risk for all 15 samples that were interviewed, according to evaluation data based on Cornell questionnaires. According to full body analysis data, body parts below the hip have a higher MSD score for both male and females, while the right knee has a higher MSD score for females. According to the P-chart analysis, 26.67% of the 15 workers have a higher MSD prevalence, while 73.33% have a lower MSD prevalence. Males, on the other hand, had a higher risk of MSDs than females, according to the findings.
