Abstract

For the successful implementation of any strategies, firms need to focus on the HRM practices since, human resource is the one who initiates, implements, and makes any improvement sustainable. The study aims to assess the lean-sustainable HRM practices of the Indian retail industry by using multi-grade fuzzy. Four enablers, 22 criteria, and 84 attributes were identified through extensive literature review and expert opinion. The calculated overall lean-sustainability HRM index 6.7, reveals that the case retail store 'focuses lean-sustainable HRM practices'. The study also offered necessary suggestions for improving the identified weaker attributes. This framework will help the managers to periodically assess their store's lean-sustainable HRM practices and make necessary actions for enhancing its overall performance.
