Factors affecting tourism development under mediating role of diversified tourism products: case in Vietnam

Abstract

This study aimed to estimate the critical factors affecting the development of tourism in Vietnam, especially in Binh Thuan Province, under the role of a mediating factor. Using a quantitative method (partial least squares structural equation modelling), the following factors were found to have a significant and positive influence on tourism development under the intervention of diversified tourism products: tourism resources, infrastructure, information technology, stakeholder involvement, and government policies. The findings confirm that diversified tourism products significantly enhance tourism development by attracting a broader range of visitors, extending the tourism season, and increasing the local economic benefits. The study also highlights how improved infrastructure, digital advancements, and policy interventions can further support the development of unique tourism offerings such as eco-tourism, cultural tourism, and adventure tourism. These insights provide a strong foundation for Binh Thuan to strengthen its tourism strategy, ensure long-term sustainability, and maximise its economic potential.
