Abstract

Many factors can influence the successful adoption of e-procurement systems in the telecommunication industry and these factors will influence procurement performance. This study aims to analyse the relationship between these two variables. Constructs and indicators for the independent variable (factors influencing adoption) were derived using the TOE framework and DOI theoretical models along with empirical evidence. Constructs and indicators for the dependent variable (procurement performance) were derived using empirical evidence. A deductive research approach has been used and conducted as a quantitative study. The study found 13 critical success factors that influence the adoption of e-procurement which impact the adoption of e-procurement platforms with varying significance. Hypothesis testing was conducted to identify the significance of the relationship among the adoption factors and procurement performance in telecommunication industry concerning cost-saving potential, efficiency improvement, and managerial effectiveness in decision-making.
