Abstract

The study provides valuable insights for decision-making authorities, helping them make informed trade-offs among the supplier evaluation and supplier selection benefits (SESSBs) and enhances the overall effectiveness of the supply chain (SC) in Indian automobile sector (IAS). This study focuses SESSBs and their impact on the effectiveness of the SC in IAS. The study employs interpretive structural modelling (ISM) and fuzzy Matriced Impacts Croisés Multiplication Appliquée à un Classement (FMICMAC) method to determine the hierarchical interrelationship among the SESSBs, considering driving and dependence power. The paper identifies and finalises 25 SESSBs through the collaboration of a team of experts from academia and industry. The findings of this study reveal the interrelationships among the 25 SESSBs and demonstrate how this understanding can be beneficial for industry practitioners in enhancing the effectiveness of their SC in IAS. A well-designed, validated, and tested questionnaire can be used to mitigate the potential bias in expert opinions.
