Abstract

This paper aims to define the positive and negative impacts of the adoption of e-procurement solutions in both the private and public sectors of the Italian market. The cases of two leading Italian companies in e-procurement solutions have been analysed as these two companies have developed more than 150 e-procurement projects and effectively represent the situation in the Italian market. This study fulfils the need for solid empirical findings on this very important topic within the Italian market where the adoption of e-procurement solutions is still at an early stage and guidance is still needed on how this solution can impact on firm performance.
