Abstract

The National Agricultural Higher Education Project (NAHEP) was made by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and the World Bank to improve higher education in agriculture in India. In the long run, this will allow farmers to have a better schooling system. The current study was done at national meetings with people from seven State Agricultural Universities (SAUs) across India, as well as people from business and academia. The goal was to improve 'collaboration between academia and industry' by bringing these groups together better. Based on the comments of 199 people from both school and business, the study shows that colleges and businesses need to join right away (p < 0.001). People think that these links will help higher education get better over time. Academic institutions think that these kinds of connections help students by making them more employable, giving them business skills, and giving them cash help.
