Abstract

The main purpose of this study is to identify the impact of relational-capital on supply chain risk and firm performance in a manufacturing environment. Drawing on social-capital theory, this research investigates whether the supply chain risk is reduced by the generation of relational capital between buyers and suppliers. However, supply chain risk has negative effect on performance, relational capital will be able to reduce and moderate this effect. This research performed based on structural equation modelling (SEM), in 134 manufacturing firms in Qazvin province industrial-parks. Collected data analysed by partial least square (PLS) method in order to evaluate the relationship between variables and their impact on each other. Empirical results confirm that there is no positive impact among trust, commitment and supply chain risk, but reliability and information exchange can impact positively and reduce the risk in supply chain, in manufacturing companies.
