Abstract

In this paper, we introduce a new family of distributions called the Ristić-Balakrishnan-exponentiated half logistic-G (RB-EHL-G) family of distributions. Statistical properties of the new family including hazard function, quantile function, moments, distribution of the order statistics and Rényi entropy are derived. Some special cases of the new family are presented. The maximum likelihood estimation technique is used to estimate the model parameters. A Monte Carlo simulation study is conducted in order to examine the bias and mean square error of the maximum likelihood estimators. Finally, the new family is applied to real life datasets to illustrate the usefulness of the proposed distribution.
