Abstract

In this paper, a new generalised family of lifetime models called the exponentiated half logistic-Kumaraswamy-G (EHL-KUM-G) distribution is introduced and studied. We derive explicit expressions for the structural properties which includes quantile function, linear representation, ordinary and incomplete moments, moment generating functions, Rényi entropy, order statistics and probability weighted moments. Special models were also presented together with the investigation of the shapes of their densities and hazard rate functions. Estimation of model parameters based on maximum likelihood estimation technique is also discussed and a simulation study is conducted to evaluate the consistency of maximum likelihood estimators. The potential usefulness of this new distribution is demonstrated by fitting exponentiated half logistic-Kumaraswamy-Weibull (EHL-KUM-W) distribution to two real datasets.
