Debating the Americanisation of human resource management: origins, misconceptions and politics in discussing the US model

Abstract

The perception of Americanisation in the academic arena is shaping the evolution of research on human resource management. This paper seeks to locate the origins and dimensions of the US model of human resource management as an ideal type that risks becoming a stylised interpretation eliminating nuance.
