Abstract

The world regulations related to the emission of greenhouse gases (GHG) have contributed to the evolution of the green vehicle market, thus making great strides in sales and technology. The electric vehicle, which has a limited range, is one of the best alternatives to the conventional combustion vehicle. In this paper, we consider a multi-depot electric capacitated vehicle routing problem (MDECVRP) where the objective is to find the optimal routing strategy with the minimum total energy consumption as well as the minimum total cost of opening depots, while respecting the constraints related to the problem. For that, a mathematical model and a resolution approach based on a large neighbourhood search are proposed to solve the studied problem. Finally, numerical results related to three classes of the MDECVRP are given to validate the aforementioned approach by making a comparison with the results obtained by the CPLEX solver for small instances.
