Abstract

Selection of suppliers is an essential activity in the construction industry. This activity has an impact on the cost and quality of construction projects. To simplify the task, this article proposes a new mathematical model that can enable decision makers to choose competent suppliers. The model is based on an analysis of previous models and the recommended multiple selection criteria from 100 decision makers in construction companies from the UK and the United Arab Emirates. The model also paves the way for scholarly discussion on supplier selection in the industry. Thus, this article contributes to the theory and practice of supply chain management.
