Abstract

This paper investigates the information system strategy of Lovittools, a medium sized precision engineering company in Melbourne, Australia. The company is increasingly aware that it must have information systems that support its business and manufacturing strategies. In the absence of a suitable proprietary system, it has developed its own system. The company view of the key benefits of information have evolved in the course of this successful development and implementation. The company is now extending the scope of its information strategy, and has achieved significant tangible benefits from its initial explorations of the internet. This paper describes the evolution of the information systems at Lovittools, and the perceptions and plans of the management team.
