Abstract

This paper attempts to present the overseeing situation of cost of quality (CoQ) in the supply chain of an integrated aluminium manufacturing company as the case example shown by the authors. The study has critiqued a wide range of published literature to provide an in depth review of CoQ and CoQ in the supply chain. This study describes an application of grounded theory approach for CoQ in the supply chain to demonstrate what can be found and how the information on CoQ in supply chain of the case example can help. The study considers rigorous methodological usefulness of the research results to benefit researchers and practitioners in making financial improvements, with justification in planning and controlling of quality in the supply chain. This study explains that CoQ in the supply chain helps in realising there is a sustainable competitive advantage through its proficient know-how advancement founded on internal analysis under conditions of uncertainty, complexity and conflicts.
