Abstract

Various best practices and strategies are followed to ensure the quality software projects. Nevertheless, it is yet not possible to develop completely customer satisfied software products. This is because it is well proven that several parameters influence the total project success. Scope creep is one such major parameter for the software project success. The aim of this paper is therefore to comprehend the implications of scope creep on total project success and also upon various other parameters. This research involves case study carried out in a sampled software industry where projects from domains such as telecom and retail are investigated. From the investigation, various inferences and observations are drawn which has led towards the introduction of scope creep life cycle (SCLC). Implementation of this enhanced mode of managing scope creep through integration of SCLC in software development process ensures retention of quality and project success leading towards assured total customer satisfaction.
