Impact of manufacturing competency on strategic success of an automobile manufacturing unit

Abstract

Strategic success of the industry depends upon the manufacturing competencies, that is, the competitive advantage, the industry has with the parameters of better quality and reliability, which will lead to increasing the sales and creating a sound customer base, for greater market share thus returning with more profit, growth and expansion. Competitive priorities are the operating advantages that a firm's processes must possess to outperform its competitors. The operating advantage for the industry is assessed, evaluated, and measured with the parameters of cost, quality, time, design, flexibility, etc. The present research is designed to come up to the level of the expectations of the industrialists, policy makers, designers of the competencies, specially, the manufacturing competencies upon which the whole strategic success of the industry depends.
