Abstract

Individuals' financial inclusion is now a significant issue for every country, with financial literacy and its enhancement being the main influencing factor. Financial education and how it is provided at all educational levels could be the catalyst for achieving this goal. Experiential learning methods emphasising practical integration of economic theory are not only the best way of assimilating financial knowledge but also the best way of transforming financial knowledge into financial behaviour. Such innovative learning methods are included in the specific research. Using specially designed educational experiments based on experimental economics, an investigation and enhancement of the Greek students' financial literacy was carried out concerning introductory and specialised microeconomic and macroeconomic knowledge. The results show that using such methods in education could bring exceptional investigation results and strengthen individuals' financial literacy. Educational policymakers will be empowered to reshape the educational process where and when needed, based on this potential research.
