Exploring the influencing factors of learning management systems continuance intention in a blended learning environment

Abstract

With the emergence of learning management systems (LMS), many higher education institutions have adopted a blended learning approach. LMS can be used as a tool to support blended learning activities to help learners achieve their learning outcomes. This study focuses on continuance use intention towards LMS in blended learning environments. Several relevant factors have been identified to examine users' continuance intention to use LMS in a blended learning environment including educational quality, service quality, technical system quality, information quality, users' confirmation, and satisfaction. Partial least squares-structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) was employed to validate the proposed model and hypothesis. This study has provided evidence that users' satisfaction on services, technical system, and information quality directly impacts users' decisions to continue using LMS. Therefore, for students' satisfaction, higher education institutions may need to consider the influencing factors before implementing a blended learning environment with LMS.
