The instructional media development of welding practice course based on PjBL model: enhancing student engagement and student competences

Abstract

This paper aims to describe the quality of the instructional media based on project-based learning model at welding practice course. The research method used was research and development. The subjects were lecturers and students of Mechanical Engineering Program of Vocational Education Department. The results of research and development were: 1) the validity of the instructional media was categorised as valid by expert judgments; 2) the practicality of instructional media, syllabus and lecture unit for lecturers were practical and very helpful as a guidance in the implementation of project-based learning model, and the students responded that the learning module were practical and very useful to use as a guidance and a source of learning of project-based learning model; 3) the effectiveness of instructional media was effective in enhancing student engagement and student competencies.
