Abstract

As students increasingly acquire information from the internet for their formal or informal learning, the aim of this study is to analyse the use of social bookmarking to help students collaboratively access useful and creditable web resources, and hence developing their information literacy capability. We have developed an intelligent social bookmarking system, namely, (SE)^2, in this study. Control experiments on students' use of (SE)^2 to improve the quality of acquired web resources were conducted. The results show that (SE)^2 is an effective tool to facilitate the access of web resources and social bookmarking can be integrated into different e-learning activities to enhance students' learning.
