The headquarters' strategy in knowledge transfer effectiveness: an empirical study in Thailand

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is show how process of knowledge transfer in creating capabilities of local employees through interaction with globally mobile knowledge employees enhances the organisation learning for product innovation or process improvement. The study investigates how headquarters' strategy involves in knowledge transfer effectiveness. It is hypothesised to have an influence on mechanism of knowledge transfer via personnel movement mechanism (PMM) to be enhanced by HRM practices in subsidiary recipient. The empirical study is based on primary data collected using mailed questionnaire surveys of 83 completed and usable questionnaires were returned making a response rate of 14%.
