Abstract

This research paper attempts to investigate the relationship between the learning factors of professional intellects and the organisational leadership on the sharing performance of explicit and tacit knowledge in the Accountant General's department of Malaysia. Accountant General's department is the main knowledge provider of accounting functions and services to all ministries and government agencies of the federal government in Malaysia. It is a knowledge intensive organisation and it has a large pool of public sector accountants. A survey questionnaire was used to collect data from all public sector accountants employed by the Accountant General's department. Using factor analysis and multiple regression analysis, this study provides empirical evidence to propose significant joint effects of organisational leadership and learning factors of professional intellects that can contribute in enhancing organisational performance and innovativeness.
