Measuring the impacts of organisational culture determinants on organisational citizenship behaviour in IT sector

Abstract

In India, the information technology (IT) sector has emerged as a dynamic, swiftly expanding industry with numerous employment opportunities. This study investigates the crucial role of organisational citizenship behaviour (OCB) in fostering the expansion of IT companies. Our cross-sectional survey includes the opinions of 378 middle-and senior-level IT administrators from a variety of organisations. Using multiple regression analysis and path analysis techniques, this study evaluates the impact of OCB on the overall efficacy of IT companies. Notably, our findings disclose that a substantial proportion, specifically 70.60%, of an IT company's efficacy can be attributed to the various OCB-influencing factors within these organisations. This study highlights the significance of fostering and recognising OCB in the workplace to increase the success and growth of IT companies in India.
