Ethical theories in business: Thirukkural perspective

Abstract

The study presents the dimensions of ethical theories in business from the perspective of Thirukkural. Ethical theories in business can recognise as a means for managing the various business activities which incorporate utilitarianism, deontology, rights, and virtue. The concept of ethical theories in business is in practice for decades by organisations worldwide. Thiruvalluvar is one of the great genii of the world; Thirukkural is one of the purest and highest manifestations of human thoughts. The article is based on a scale called hermeneutics, research, and theory to understand which revelations about the interpretation of texts. This article reveals that Thirukkural recommends a cognisance and ethical-based approach to business organisations. This article attempts to highlight the Thirukkural perspective of ethical theories in business and other areas like time management, human resource management, and leadership, with future research in consideration.
