Abstract

The issue of population growth, which is not proceeding at the same pace as economic capacity, has appeared to become an unsolvable issue. The impact of this situation on the community's ability to improve families' health and welfare is severe. Stressing the importance of family planning is an alternative for a better future. The public's understanding of family planning itself which is still deficient, can serve as indicator that there is still a problem in the community. Therefore, we address this issue as the focus of this study and formulate the research questions as follows: How does the public understand family planning? Does family planning influence the household energy consumption? We gathered the data from surveys and questionnaires. From the result, it showed that it requires counselling in order to emphasise the importance of family planning as a form of energy consumption reduction for the realisation of a greener economy.
