Abstract

This paper shows the tendencies and future forecasts related to the impact that technological changes can have in the treatment and management of industrial wastes in the Castille and Leon area during the next ten years. We present here a summary of a technological prospective study carried out from November 1999 to November 2000, whose purpose was to predict, in the medium and the long term, the evolution of the technology and to use it as criterion for taking strategic decisions with less risk and uncertainty in Castille and Leon, the most extensive area of Europe. The entire study can be seen on the web page of the Environmental Analysis and Studies Laboratory of the Technological Centre CARTIF (http://www.cartif.es/iLabo.htm).
