Abstract

Attitudes towards the work environment among employees significantly impact organisational sustainability. Nevertheless, numerous employees disregard environmentally favourable practices because they are not explicitly included in their job responsibilities. This research investigates the extent to which organisational citizenship behaviour for the environment (OCBE) is promoted by green transformational leadership (GTL) in Chennai's manufacturing sector. This study employed a convenience sampling approach to gather data from 211 respondents, which included both superiors and subordinates. The hypotheses were examined using AMOS software to conduct structural equation modelling (SEM). The results indicate that the dimensions of GTL greatly influence the voluntary environmental behaviours of employees. Leaders who exhibit robust green values and motivation are more inclined to encourage their employees to adopt sustainable practices, according to the research. In order to foster OCBE, organisations should implement leadership initiatives that foster environmental responsibility and ongoing green engagement in the workplace.
