Measuring the job satisfaction levels of academic staff in universities by the application of sentiment analysis

Abstract

In this study, it is aimed to measure the job satisfaction levels of academic staff. This measurement was carried out with the application of sentiment analysis, which is a field of study that determines the emotional pole of written and verbal expressions. The data used in the designed sentiment analysis study were collected through a form consisting of eight questions to measure demographic information and 20 qualitative questions to measure job satisfaction of academic staff, which was prepared by taking expert opinions. In this study, the academic staff working at Osmaniye Korkut Ata University were subjected to evaluation. In the study, the data were analysed through the sentiment analysis software developed with the Python programming language, and as a result of the analysis, it was concluded that the job satisfaction level of the university academic staff was positive.
