Abstract

The present study proposes a conceptual model to understand the relationship between career development and employee outcome mediated by organisational culture. A structured questionnaire was administered to 278 participants employed in different industrial sectors in India. The proposed model was validated empirically by using the PLS-SEM. The result indicates a direct link between career development and organisational culture and the subsequent impact on employee outcomes. Furthermore, with respect to career development and employee outcomes, an indirect link indicating the full mediating effect of organisational culture is determined. The study has an implication for HR managers. The present findings underscore the importance of organisational culture specifically in job satisfaction and employee engagement in Indian organisational settings.
